If you receive financial aid, you have the ability to use it to pay for off-campus housing. since housing is considered part of the cost of attendance, it qualifies as a qualified expense. FAFSA says that you can use the dollars to pay for the cost of attending an institution of higher education, room and board, which includes off-campus housing.
